Service Description
A special workshop to untangle yourself from the stressful thoughts wrapped up in the perceptions of your own body. "The Work" is a straightforward and practical tool devised by Bryon Katie (see www.thework.com) which invites you to hold thoughts as object in order to facilitate a sense of separateness from them. This provides space, choice and perspective. April has been working with this methodology since 2020, trained under Todd Smith (theworkasmeditation.com) and has facilitated it since 2022. April grounds this teaching in a unique somatic approach and builds on 30+ years of expertise in yoga and meditation. "The Work" will only "work" if you stand in the belief that you are separate from your thoughts, and that thoughts are things which you can control. In this workshop, April will teach you how to use the pragmatic tool called "The Work", invite you to seek out somatic data harvested from the body and get honest with yourself through a meditative approach which allows you to fully control the process. This workshop is for those are ready for a shift and who are tired as identifying as someone who is continually dissatisfied with their own body. If looping and recurring thoughts such as: "I wish my body was...thinner, younger, healthier, fitter, stronger, taller, shorter, larger, smaller, more beautiful, more attractive, a different color, a different shape, a different size, just different!" are causing you stress and you are tired of it and ready to shift then please come along - even just out of curiosity! Who or what would you be without these stressful thoughts about your body? Sharing aloud is NOT a required aspect of this workshop. Everything will remain completely confidential. Healing sound bath at the end of "the work". Numbers limited to 8.
Cancellation Policy
Please note booking closes 6 hours prior to the start of each class/event for drop-ins. GROUP CLASSES Sometimes we cancel: We require a minimum of 4 students to book in order to run a group class. If less than students book we will let you know that the class has been cancelled via email and/or through our WhatsApp group (drop April a message (284) 499-1702 and she can add you to the group). If we have to cancel a class due to bad weather or other "natural cause" then you will receive a class credit. ​Sometimes you cancel: We understand "stuff" comes up. If you need to cancel please give us at least 6 hours notice to receive a full refund or class credit. If you give less than 6 hours notice then 50% of the price will be charged. If you give less than 1 hour notice or book and don't show up then the full amount will be charged. ​1-2-1 SESSIONS/RETREATS/SPECIAL EVENTS/BESPOKE SESSIONS For 1-2-1 sessions, retreats and special events we operate a 24 hour cancellation policy. If less than 24 hours notice is given then we will charge you the full amount of the agreed price for that session.
